Random Addition is a radically playful community music collaboration, where anyone who enters the space contributes to an ever-shifting piece of music.
For 10 days I set up a recording space in Coromandel's Hauraki House Gallery built purely for sonic exploration - with instruments, microphones, various non-conventional sound making machines.
Visitors are invited to play and explore sounds, the weirder the better! (almost) everything is recorded, and I mix, edit, loop and mash it all up on the fly, and work it all into one awesome piece of music (well that's subjective! it does get kinda strange) I did this project 3 times : 2017, 2023, 2024. I might do it again one day. 🙂
