In 2025 I spent two and a half months at the Tiapapata Art Centre in Samoa alongside my wife, ceramic artist Caitlin Moloney. VĀ is what came out of that time: eleven tracks built from field recordings, hydrophone explorations, found sounds, and collaborations with people we met there. Bass-heavy, place-based, personal. The album is named after the Samoan concept of vā — the relational space between people, land, ocean, and spirit.
